Acknowledgement

I acknowledge and cherish what it means to live, work, and play on the traditional territories of the peoples of the Treaty 7 region in what is also referred to as Southern Alberta, Canada. I am grateful to the original stewards of this land and to those acknowledging, embracing, and honouring their responsibility and leadership today so it can be what it is for us now and for future generations.

I also extend gratitude to the teachers, leaders, medicines, witnesses, and all other relationships I have experienced and will experience that have enriched my personal journey. I am deeply humbled by the lessons, mirrors, and inspiration that has gracefully been woven throughout my life so that I could become the person I am today and continue to embrace and develop into.

It is my wish that we may all strive to actively choose to identify and push against how we normalize the conditional human experience - within our circles, within our workplaces, within our communities, and most importantly within our selves.

About Me

My name is Kelley Thompson and I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta as the oldest of three siblings to two deeply loving parents. I arrived in this place as a result of the courage and care of ancestry stemming from generations of English, French-Canadian, Hungarian, and Scottish descent, and have come to learn more about my heritage connections to the Irish and Acadians as well. While I genuinely resonate with the importance of acknowledging the families we extend from, I also strongly connect with my role in stewardship and active presence that comes with having been born in the stunning foothills of the Rocky Mountains specifically acknowledged as Treaty 7, alongside all other beings who call (or once called) this place home.

I have a very particular orientation towards diving relentlessly into the mysteries and realms of what it means to connect with a greater purpose and potential in life. And through these pursuits, my affinity for exposure and analysis of highly complex and interrelated streams of information tends to perpetually move me through the spirals of self-discovery and authentic re-invention. This has been present in themes across my life in education, ceremony, business and career, self identity acceptance, exercise and diet, routines and patterns, and all kinds of relationships to and with others along the way.

My intention behind offering a container, such as thompkell, into the world is to facilitate access to portals of self-discovery, self-development, self-acceptance, and maybe even self-mastery through a blending and curation of modalities that I have been experiencing, refining, and feeling called to share.

The truth is, you know yourself better than anyone else can or ever will, even if you don’t dive deeply into always unpacking what that means. Consider these offerings as invitations to explore practical tools and subtle conversations with yourself, with some support and encouragement along the way.

I am here to be all I can be,

and I believe that you are too.

With love,

Kelley

Sliding Scale: The Intention

Most commonly, the application of a sliding scale for services or offerings is designed to introduce a level of equity and/or fairness in relation to someone's income level. As someone who has a fairly wide network and relationships with people across a wide range of situations, it is deeply important to me to consider how to increase the accessibility of what I have to offer, while also maintaining the value of what I am offering and how it may (certainly will) change over time. While the range intends to enable more appropriate exchange, it does not equate to standardizing discounting or devaluing my offerings.

When approaching a sliding scale offering, I invite you to consider your personal role in making services and offerings more accessible to others in situations that may be more challenging than yours. I also invite you to contemplate and take honest, reciprocal actions when paying for services (which can also mean if you don't get value from something, you are encouraged to be sincere about that).

The sliding scale in my offerings allows for:

  • new prospects, relationships, clients, and collaborators getting to know me, my offerings, and my style

  • financial accessibility for those facing more barriers than others

  • conversation between you and I about what feels safe, possible, and/or allow for shifts over time

  • conscious reciprocation of the value received

  • varying levels of service (e.g., additional support, tracking of changes, transits, and other metrics throughout our journey together)
